BACKGROUND TO THE NEW DESIGN
Throwing it back to Molton Brown’s beginnings in the free-thinking seventies of non-conformists and creative liberties of whom delivered powerful sensorial moments. Some decades later and Molton Brown propels their legacy onwards to a modern, game-changing collection, taking their Eau de Parfums into a daring new direction.
This collection takes 10 visionary perfumers from varies ages, backgrounds and experiences to conceptualise truly experimental and diverse scents. There has been no marketing brief, or panel testing and no demographic restrictions. Instead each fragrance has been hand crafted to touch the senses and the soul. Expressing the individual character of each fragrance to then match the individual character of the customer.
The Fragrances here, are at their most pure – blended with a more intense oil concentration, plus an additional perfumer-picked signature note to contrast, compliment or enrich the original Eau de Toilette. So they still smell like the original scent you know and may already love, but each fragrance has been taken to a whole new dimension.
At the time of launch, all the favourites are here – Orange and Bergamot, Rosa Absolute, Fiery Pink Pepper, Re-charge Black Pepper, Tobacco Absolute, Russian Leather, Heavenly Gingerlily, Bushukan, Flora Luminare, Mesmerising Oudh Accord and Gold and my preference…Coastal Cypress and Sea Fennel.
THE PACKAGING
The Packaging itself is simply divine and looks like a piece of art. Made in England, the fragrances are housed in a collectible and refillable glass flacon, with the Eau de Parfums also featuring a one of a kind spherical resin cap. This cap colour is perfectly toned to complement each fragrance. Its certainly a bottle you want to display and I love that every bottle unisex.
COASTAL CYPRESS AND SEA FENNEL
This scent will forever remind me of the ocean, the image of waves crashing against rugged rocks and caverns. Refreshing, awakening, invigorating. I love the sea salted element within this scent and how much it works as a unisex fragrance with an ever so slight more masculine incline. I find it to be quite a light, clean scent, so ideal for the Summer months and day time use. There’s no overpowering or heaviness that lingers, instead its a unqiue combination of citrus, sea-salt and slight musk coming through.
- Top notes – cardamon, fig leaf and bergamot
- Middle notes – sea notes, violet leaf and jasmine
- Base notes – salted cypress, cedar wood and musk.

According to Molton Brown’s website, Blue Cypress is the only naturally blue essential oil in the world that is obtained from a tree. Native to the north Australian coast of Cape York, it’s steam-distilled from the cypress conifer.
