Charlotte Tilbury Sexy Sienna Lipstick
My Summer makeup always leans itself to more bronze tones, with corals being my favourite go-to for cheeks and lips. I was often on the hunt for that goldilocks-just-right Summer Lipstick – the one that would take me from day to night, from the beach to the beach bar, and one that would work with many different makeup looks and weather climates.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Sexy Sienna lipstick very quickly became one of my favourite lipsticks. Now over 5 years later I still reach for it day in, day out, every single Summer. For me, it’s the perfect Summer lipstick.
I found that perfect Summer lipstick that ticks all the boxes and more with Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution in Sexy Sienna. This lipstick very quickly became my go-to Summer lipstick and over 5 years later I’ve continued to reach for it every Summer since. As Spring starts drawing to a close, right through to the beginnings of Autumn, this is what I wear, day in day out. In fact it’s one of my all time favourite lipsticks, which, as a bit of a lipstick junkie, is a rather big deal.
THE SHADE
This was my first ever Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick, so I blame this one for the amount of money I’ve spent since on her products. Sexy Sienna is named and influenced by the beautiful actress Sienna Miller. It’s a gorgeously vibrant shade that’s been created in an easily wearable way. Its a beautiful pink coral that has just the right amount of colour and punch to brighten the face, without looking too much or overpowering, plus its a shade that really makes my eyes pop. It is bright without being over the top, it’s not too pink, not too orange, just that perfect in between coral shade I love.
TEXTURE
I am never one for Matte Lipsticks normally, preferring more of a cremesheen or even gloss, but this Matte formula is incredibly soft and creamy and not the least bit drying on my normally pretty dry lips. It’s not cakey like some Matte lipsticks are, instead it just feels buttery and hydrating on the lips that I feel will work for any age range (including me here in my mid-forties).
LONGEVITY
This lipstick lasts well on my lips, I have other lipsticks that may last longer but this one still performs very well. I find that even when it does fade it fades in an even way that still leaves a decent amount of colour all over the lips. It is one of those lipsticks you don’t mind topping up through the day because the packaging is so beautiful, and its a creamy formula that feels light to wear.
PACKAGING AND APPLICATION
How beautiful is the Charlotte Tilbury packaging? To me it screams glamour and luxury, something that is so distinctively Charlotte Tilbury, with it’s shiny rose-gold lipstick holder.
And then the lipstick itself has such a distinctive shape. Which fits the shape of the lips to perfection especially round the cupids bow. The lipstick has the square shaped tip to mimic the shape of a lip brush which makes the application a dream (a no-mirror needed kind of lipstick).
The lipstick applies smoothly, evenly and as it’s highly pigmented you don’t need a lot for the beautiful coral shade to show through.
COMPARING TO OTHER CHARLOTTE TILBURY LIPSTICKS
Charlotte Tilbury’s Coral Kiss (formerly known as Coachella Coral) is another big favourite for the Summer months. I find Coral Kiss to have a little more of an orange undertone on me and it packs a bit more of a punch of colour on me too, which is great for evenings. A richer shade than Sexy Sienna, Coral Kiss comes in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G formula which is more hydrating with a bit of a sheen.
I loved the Charlotte Tilbury Sunset Lover for so many years but it’s now sadly discontinued. However, the newer Carina’s Star is another great coral. This one is much more of a terracotta shade on me, but if you like your coral lipsticks it’s certainly worth looking at, plus the packaging is stunning.
