Sunday Mornings are mornings I treasure so much. Our house is pretty hectic most of the week with the school run, our work, the kids activities, etc. So Sundays are something of a welcomed treat because it’s the only day we usually have nothing planned.
At this time of year as the weather is turning pretty cold there is nothing better than a glorious (and much needed) Sunday lie-in, before heading downstairs to make a frothy latte and lighting one of my all time favourite candles – Jo Malone’s Lavender and Lovage. Then I settle down under a cosy soft blanket with the coffee by my side, a good book in my hand and let the beautiful candle’s fragrance fill the room, helping me totally relax. It’s utter blissful and if its raining outside, somehow it makes it all feel even more cosy and better.
The Jo Malone Lavender and Lovage Candle is from the Jo Malone ‘Just Like Sunday Collection’ – which is a collection created by Jo Malone’s Style Director Charlotte Stockdale. The ‘Just Like Sunday’ Collection was inspired by scents of what Sundays meant to Charlotte, so it’s a lovely, personal and poignant line. I am a huge candle lover, and knowing how expensive Jo Malone candles are it’s nice to save them for that precious time when I a moment to yourself in a calm, sleepy household can feel pretty indulgent.
Later in the day we normally take the children out for a walk in the forest before coming back to watch a WSL match on the TV, before sitting down to a Sunday Roast by the fire and then it’s bubble bath time before bed. Sundays in our house are a day to pause a little, recharge the batteries, and take things that little bit easier, and Sundays….you are so special.
